Gallery of Sennowe Park

Sennowe Park offers a wide variety of backdrops for filming with either an Edwardian, stately home or simply country atmosphere.

The Formal Rooms are individual in style and character. The Drawing Room is Georgian in proportion and has original decorated silk wall covering and marble fireplace. The Hall offers a variety of rich carvings in wood and ornate carving in the balustrade of the spectacular staircase. The barrel-vaulted ceiling of the Library is eyecatching with its spectacular plasterwork and carved wooden door. The Shooting Dining Room has rich wooden overmantel carvings in the style of Grinling Gibbons. The Kitchen is contemporary and luxurious, made bespoke with limestone floor and granite work surfaces.

The Winter Garden is a 70ft glass house containing a fountain and a beautiful square patterned marble floor. A spectacular show of flowering geraniums in summer, campsis radicus and plumbago, amidst faded ironwork makes a sensational setting. This and the 42ft Long Room, with its three pairs of French windows, can both be used quite simply as large capacity studios.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

There are a series of bedrooms, many with ornate carved ceilings and each individual in style and character, from the most grand with a half tester to intimate attic bedrooms. Original wallpaper and light fittings are still to be found in most of the bedrooms. Spectacular Edwardian tile work in the Art Deco style can be found together with traditional, but working fittings.

House Exterior

The house has much intricate and detailed carving and impressive roof statues. Two colonnades offer dramatic perspective. The stable yard is accessed through huge decorated wrought iron gates in a dramatic and architecturally spectacular archway. The stables contain eleven Edwardian loose boxes affording every equine comfort. An Italianate Water Tower houses a working belfry and makes a major landmark at a height of 120 ft.

Park, Lake and Gardens

The Italianate terraced lawns are laid in symmetry on two large terraces with spectacular views of the Park, Lake and Boathouse. The gardens have stone balustrading and ornamental urns and statues. The Park rolls through a woodland setting to the Lake and Boathouse. The Boathouse is an Edwardian gem and particularly romantic, with a broad veranda supported on stilts facing toward the West and the setting sun. The Walled Garden encloses half an acre and contains a faded greenhouse the entire length of one side in which an Edwardian vine still grows. Old fruit trees, plum, pear and apple are to be found.
